Like Sue, a previous reviewer, I ve been going to Diner 77 since 1977 around when it opened. Back then I lived in the Pontcanna area of Cardiff and it was handy but also very good. I must say that it has been a few years since I last ate there and had all but forgotten about it. I called in one evening last week when visiting Cardiff and found that it is still good. Great food and good service. It was very busy too, a sign of a good restaurant but it was a little difficult to squeeze past other diners for a trip to the loo! That is my only negative comment and then only because it was so popular!
I've been several times, each time for their biggest steak and dessert. And each time, I get so full it hurts to walk home! And yet I keep going back, every time I want a decent steak and sundae.
The staff are friendly, considerate, and speedy, and the portions are well worth the money. Recommended for everyone!

Last time I went to Diner 77 was when smoking was allowed indoors. Unfortunately placed to sit next to smokers. Asked if my son and I could be relocated to another table. Told in no uncertain words stay there or go! Haven't been back since.
Been going there regularly since 1977, so there can't be much wrong with the place!! The menu is now much more extensive than in the early days, but you can't beat an Easy Rider with extra mushroom sauce!
The stadium opened in June 1999, and the first major event to be held was an international rugby union match on 26 June 1999, when Wales beat South Africa ...
